Then a fox ran along the beach and onto the jetty.

Finally, my final image is a composite of 7 photos. I used Hugin to position the photos and The GIMP to fine-tune the blending so that the water looked seamless. Unfortunately I didn't have my tripod with me, so to remove camera shake I put the camera on the ground.
